Senior Compounding Manager
Key Responsibilities
Compounding Operations
• Supervise daily batching, mixing, and pre-weigh activities according to production schedules
• Ensure all formulations are prepared accurately and consistently, following SOPs and GMP standards
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of the distilled water system used in compounding processes
• Monitor raw material usage and inventory levels to prevent shortages or overages
• Maintain documentation integrity for all compounding records and batch sheets
New Product Trials & Innovation
• Coordinate and execute trial batches for new product development in collaboration with R&D and Quality teams
• Provide feedback on formulation scalability and process feasibility
• Support scale-up activities and transition from pilot to full production
Technical Writing & Documentation
• Prepare and update SOPs, batch records, and technical reports related to compounding activities
• Ensure documentation meets regulatory and internal quality standards
• Contribute to deviation reports, corrective actions, and continuous improvement documentation
Client Interaction
• Participate in client visits, providing technical insights and showcasing compounding capabilities
• Support customer audits and respond to inquiries related to formulation and process control
• Collaborate with Sales, R&D, and Quality teams to align compounding operations with client expectations
Team Leadership
• Lead, train, and mentor compounding technicians and team leads
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and support employee development
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Compliance & Safety
• Ensure all compounding activities comply with GMP, ISO, and health & safety regulations
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain a clean and compliant work environment
• Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions
Qualifications
• Diploma or degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• 15+ years of supervisory experience in compounding or batch manufacturing, preferably in cosmetics or pharmaceuticals
• Strong knowledge of GMP, SOPs, and regulatory standards
• Experience with technical writing and client-facing communication
• Proven leadership skills and experience managing teams in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S implementation
