Senior Director of Operations
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
• Lead cross-functional operations across all departments with a strong focus on execution and excellence
• Align operational objectives with corporate strategy and CEO vision
Cost Optimization & Efficiency
• Develop and execute strategies to reduce operational costs while maintaining product quality and safety
• Implement Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity
• Monitor KPIs and drive performance improvements across all operational areas
Production & Facility Oversight
• Lead production planning and execution to meet customer demand and delivery targets
• Optimize facility layout, workflow, and equipment utilization
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Maintenance & Engineering
• Direct maintenance and engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability and uptime
• Lead capital projects, facility upgrades, and technical improvements
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Automation & Process Improvement
• Champion automation initiatives to streamline operations and reduce manual labor
• Introduce innovative technologies to enhance production speed, accuracy, and scalability
• Drive cross-functional process improvements across departments
Compounding Operations
• Oversee compounding processes to ensure accurate formulation and compliance with GMP standards
• Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams to support new product development and scale-up
• Ensure proper handling of raw materials, batching procedures, and documentation
Warehouse & Supply Chain
• Oversee inventory control, material flow, and warehouse operations
• Improve order fulfillment accuracy and reduce lead times
• Enhance visibility and control
Safety & Legal Compliance
• Ensure all operations comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations, including GMP, ISO, and OHSA standards
• Lead internal audits and corrective action plans to maintain regulatory readiness
• Promote a culture of safety and accountability across all departments
Collaboration with Sales & Marketing
• Partner with Sales & Marketing teams to align production capabilities with market demand
• Support product launches, promotional timelines, and customer-specific requirements
• Provide operational input for pricing strategies and capacity planning
Quotation Assistance
• Assist in preparing accurate and competitive quotations by providing cost analysis, lead times, and production feasibility
• Collaborate with Finance and Sales teams to ensure alignment on pricing and margin targets
• Support customer inquiries and RFQs with timely and detailed operational data
Leadership & Team Development
• Build and mentor high-performing teams across all operational departments
• Align departmental goals with company strategy and growth objectives
• Foster a collaborative culture rooted in accountability, respect, and professional growth
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or relevant field (MBA preferred)
• Minimum 10 years of senior operational leadership, ideally in cosmetics or CPG manufacturing
• Proven expertise in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and automation integration
• Deep knowledge of safety standards, GMP, and compliance practices
• Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and strategic leadership skills
