HR Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
• Post job openings for general labour and salaried roles across platforms and community networks
• Screen resumes, schedule interviews, and coordinate candidate communications
• Conduct interviews for hourly positions and assist hiring managers with other roles
• Represent the company at job fairs, hiring events, and outreach campaigns
• Prepare offer letters and employment agreements for new hires
Onboarding & Orientation
• Organize and deliver new employee orientation sessions
• Ensure completion of onboarding documentation and system setup
• Introduce company policies, safety procedures, and workplace expectations
• Coordinate facility tours and first-day logistics
Training Coordination
• Schedule and track mandatory training sessions (e.g., GMP, safety, equipment handling)
• Maintain training records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Support cross-training initiatives and skill development programs
Time & Attendance
• Monitor daily attendance and resolve discrepancies in timekeeping systems
• Support supervisors with shift scheduling and absence tracking
• Prepare attendance reports for payroll and performance reviews
Payroll Support
• Verify and submit timesheets for hourly employees
• Liaise with payroll department to ensure accurate and timely processing
• Address employee inquiries related to pay, vacation, and statutory holidays
Employee Relations
• Act as a point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and feedback
• Support conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance discussions
• Assist with employee engagement initiatives and satisfaction surveys
• Promote a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative work environment
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold employment legislation and company policies
HR Administration & Support
• Maintain up-to-date employee files and HR databases
• Assist with policy updates, employee handbook revisions, and internal communications
• Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Juggle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
Qualifications
• Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• 2–4 years of HR experience, preferably in manufacturing or high-volume hiring
• Experience interviewing hourly candidates and supporting salaried recruitment
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Familiarity with timekeeping and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, Kronos)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
• Knowledge of Ontario labour laws and HR best practices
• Comfortable representing the company at public events and job fairs
